The Power of Gratitude to Raise your Vibration

new logome - CopyAfter having a minor accident on Monday evening (I fell down some stairs at the train station) and being laid up for a week now, it has given me some time (that I do not normally have) to really think and reflect on what happened and how lucky I am that my injury wasn’t much worse!

Following  the horrific events in Paris last weekend, (even though I avoid the news normally on both TV and newspapers as it is usually so depressing), I felt terribly terribly sad for all of those lives lost and of the heartbreak and pain caused to the people of France. (This incident lowered my vibration as I am sure it did for most people)!

As a Metaphysician I always look for the meaning, reason and lesson to be gleaned from any situation in my life and I usually find some nuggets if l look closely!

Last night after feeling very down in the dumps, (a feeling that is very alien to me) as I could not do anything for myself and was relying on my partner for drinks, food and everything else that I just “do” I started to think about what I would do if I was coaching someone in my situation and what questions I would be asking them and where to steer their attention.

The answers came loud and clear, Gratitude!!  I all of a sudden felt huge gratitude for the fact that my injury wasn’t much worse; and instantly I had a greater understanding of the kind of things disabled people have to face as they go about their day!

Gratitude for 2 the very kind people who picked me up after the fall at the station and collected by bag and phone and helped me onto the train.

Gratitude for the 2 people who helped me get off the train at the other end and for the kind lady that wanted to wait with me until my son arrived.

Gratitude that my son was in the area at that time and could come to my rescue and get me out of the station and safely home!

Gratitude and huge appreciation for all the kind messages and healing energy that has been sent my way from my fabulous friends around the globe – which has helped enormously!!

Gratitude for the way my partner has looked after me whilst carrying on with a manic schedule and also taking on some of my tasks like teaching the dance class that I normally teach on a Wednesday evening!

Gratitude for the amazing way that nature starts to heal our bodies when we give it the right environment in which to start the process.

Today I am totally filled with gratitude for everyone and everything in my life.  The state of gratitude quickly shifts your vibration to another level of consciousness and I can really feel that shift in my being today!

I had been so saddened by the events in Paris and on Monday it was the anniversary of an event which took place last year (as face book reminded me) of a huge trauma within my own family which completely devastated me and that was in my mind also, which again would lower my vibrational frequency which in turn impacts the events and happenings in my life!

When we vibrate at a lower frequency, we attract people and events that also vibrate at a similar frequency and everything in the universe has a frequency.

The message that I want to pass on to everyone reading this is first and foremost to recognise the power of gratitude and begin to create more of it in your life.  We all can find things to be grateful for every day, so look for them, seek them out and you will find that you start to have more things in your life to be grateful for.

Know the world is full of kind and caring people who are ready and willing to help their fellow human being in time of need!  I really don’t know how I would have managed had those 4 complete stranger not helped me the other night.

If you see the world as hostile and full of bad people – that will become your experience, “as viewed so appears” is a phrase that will always stay with me from my Quantum physics training! Which simply put means how you view a situation impacts that situation. Much more on that another time, but for now, put your focus on the outcomes of the things you want and not what you don’t want!!

We tend to take for granted the things we have in life, which is so much for most of us in the western world!

I have realised how very grateful I am that I can walk (well normally) and dance and make myself a cup of tea, and all the things I normally take for granted!

Start to develop and attitude of gratitude, live from that place and watch your life shiftJ.  Once you start to become aware of your vibration you can consciously work to elevate it and then you will start to attract into your life the things that you most desire.

We as humans have a happiness set point, (I call it my happiness barometer) and incidents that occur during our day can alter this set point and either lower or raise it depending on how the incident makes us feel, good or bad!  After a while our happiness barometer will return to its original position.

By practising gratitude studies have shown that our happiness set point will raise consequently we will become happier naturally regardless of outside events.  Yes they will still impact your life but nowhere near as much, you will handle things better and bounce back quicker.  That a big payoff for a little effort in my book!  Give it a try and let me know how you get on!
